Please note: The weekdays of Advent that run from December 17 through December 24 are privileged days with proper Scriptures that lead up to the start of Christmastide. Therefore, each year on the date of December 17, the Church stops using the Scriptures for the “weekdays of the third week of Advent”. For this same reason, there is no reflection for “Saturday of the Third Week of Advent”, because by that day the cycle of December 17-24 readings always has begun. If Christmas Day falls on a Monday, then the liturgical days listed below are not used at all.
A Sunday that falls during December 17-24 has its own proper Scriptures. In the years in which Christmas Day falls on a Monday, both the Third and Fourth Sundays of Advent fall during this timeframe. The reflections for the Third and Fourth Sundays of Advent are found below.
